Transesophageal Echocardiography |
|||
| Transesophageal echocardiography is performed by FCI Heart Center physicians as a tool to more accurately diagnose valvular and heart muscle diseases. It consists of a miniaturized ultrasound transducer placed at the tip of a flexible probe that gets advanced into the food pipe through the mouth under topical anesthesia and light sedation. The FCI Heart Center physicians are therefore able to visualize cardiac details with extreme accuracy adding this sophisticated procedure to FCI’s diagnostic capabilities. Please note, this procedure is only done at the hospital, not in out outpatient clinic. Print This Page |
